Charming and relaxing, the Barn House lies in the heart of the beautiful West Wight between Freshwater Bay and Yarmouth, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.? Adapted from a detached barn, it still holds the enchanting intricacies of many of the original features such as exposed beams and thatched roof over the lounge. Set in communal gardens, the Barn House has its own attractive private garden, laid to lawn and furnished with patio table and chairs. Inside, the well equipped kitchen-diner has a homely feel. The sitting room is really spacious, with a high ceiling, feature red brick wall and a great spot to sit and enjoy the crackling warmth from the working fireplace to on those crisp winter evenings. Freshwater Bay Golf Club, Tennyson Downs and the Round the Island cycle route are all close-by. Whether you want to get away from it all in the beautiful West Wight, walk/cycle along the Western Yar into Yarmouth with its intriguing harbour and fascinating shops, or enjoy the range of things to do and places to explore, both in the West Wight and across the island, this is the place for you. The hills above Freshwater are named after Alfred Lord Tennyson, the Poet Laureate who lived near Freshwater for almost 40 years. With fantastic views across the Channel, and back into the Solent, Tennyson was no doubt inspired by the scenery. A visit to the island wouldn't be complete without seeing some of that beauty for yourself. The Barn House is maintained as a low allergen venue, with no pets allowed in the property.
