The Jurassic Coast lies within the unspoilt countryside of East Devon, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its alluring sheltered beaches provide a wonderful secluded retreat for its curious visitors. Absorb the breathtaking views and mile upon mile of rugged cliffs, blue flag beaches, genteel seaside towns, tiny fishing villages and both pebbled and golden sands. Stoneleigh Village itself occupies a beautiful elevated position and sits charmingly between the delightful Regency town of Sidmouth and the picturesque harbour of Lyme Regis; ideally situated for holidaymakers to enjoy the perfect entirety of what the area has to offer. Sidmouth's shingly bay is surrounded by dramatic red cliffs whilst the town itself offers a variety of charming old buildings, affectionately earning the title of "Regency Town by the Sea". In fact the town boasts in the region of 500 listed buildings. For something a little different then, visitors are invited to the Norman Lockyer Observatory, perched on top of Salcombe Hill. Open to the public at least twice a month, there are a variety of events organised by the enthusiastic volunteers. Stoneleigh Village sits adjacent to Devon’s famous Donkey Sanctuary, a recognised tourist attraction, and can be found within walking distance of their main headquarters at Slade House.
