Nearby Garriemonie Beach is the perfect beach for exploring, making sandcastles, collecting shells, wild swimming, dog walking, or whatever activity takes your fancy. For a spot of history pay a visit to the Kildonan Museum and the famous Kilpheder Wheelhouse, both of which are just a short drive away. Hop over to the Isle of Eriskay for a day out or head north to visit North Uist, Benbecula and Grimsay. If you are a keen nature lover then you must call into the Balranald Nature Reserve for an insight into the local flora, fauna and wildlife of the region.
