A short drive from North Street and you can enjoy the delights of everything from rolling hills, sandy beaches, lochs and forests to dramatic coastlines. An absolute must is a visit to the Galloway Forest Park, with its abundance of wildlife which can be seen at the red deer range, wild goat park and red squirrel feeding stations. Here you can also experience exceptional walking and cycling routes, including one of the world famous 7Stanes cycle trails. It is also situated in a designated Dark Sky Park, the first to be awarded in the UK.
Ideal for the outdoor enthusiast, this delightful corner of Galloway has a large variety of outdoor pursuits on offer, including fishing, horse riding, cycling, golf and watersports.
