Or as you are in a designated Dark Sky Area, the region is known to have many Red Kites, red squirrels and deer to spot. Further afield lies Dalbeattie, home to the 7stanes: Dalbeattie cycling park, the Dalbeattie forest and Plantain Loch and many other attractions. Continue your journey to the charming town of Kirkcudbright, known for its vibrant colour and art galleries as well as its coastal walks. Those looking for a more urban experience can journey to Dumfries, Scotland's oldest town, where you can explore the Robert Burns House and Centre, take a stroll along the River Nith, and enjoy the Michelin Star restaurant of 1610.
