Burnside is set in a peaceful location in the small hamlet of Torthorwald and only a short walk to the restaurant and local pub. Ideally located for exploring the surrounding area which is simply beautiful and with a good range of activities. The county town of Dumfries provides a wide range of shops as well as many interesting historical sites, including Burns House, the home of the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns. With over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches, to supreme mountain biking and challenging hill walks and with some of the darkest skies in the world, where better to end the day. Beach 13 miles.

This cottage is located in Dumfries. Moat Brae National Centre for Children's Literature and Devorgilla Bridge are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Dalscone Farm Fun and Dumfries and County Golf Club. Dumfries Ice Bowl and Lockerbie Ice Rink are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing.
