An Sealladh is a large, traditional stone house set in extensive, fully enclosed garden grounds. Situated in a quiet lane, just a short walk from the centre of the renowned Highland village of Lochinver, which is on the scenic North Coast 500 route, An Sealladh is ideal for families, groups and couples seeking spacious accommodation in a spectacular setting. It is also just a short walk to all the amenities of this pretty and thriving coastal village.
The main living room provides a wonderful place to sit and unwind in front of the original Victorian fireplace, whilst drinking in the stunning views across the hills. The top of iconic Suilven mountain is clearly visible from the property and the gardens. There is a large kingsize bedroom on the ground floor, with a good-sized family bathroom with a feature clawfoot bath with shower over. Upstairs are two further twin bedrooms, both prettily decorated and furnished. There is also a shower room on this floor. The kitchen/dining room on the ground floor is extremely well equipped, with plenty of space for up to six guests. Large country gardens surround the property. It is has been professionally fenced to keep out the friendly wild deer that roam the hills adjoining and which like to visit on a regular basis. A detached garage in the grounds can be used by visitors to store bikes, kayaks and outdoor equipment if required.
Lochinver is a charming fishing village, set around a natural harbour and bounded by spectacular hills and rock formations. It is a magnet for hill walkers, climbers, kayakers, mountain bikers and anyone who enjoys superb unspoilt countryside and coastlines. The village has a good selection of restaurants, as well as a pub, unusual small craft shops and cafés. There are two small supermarkets within a short walk. The stunning white-sand beach of Achmelvich is just 8 minutes’ drive away and there are numerous sandy and rocky bays along this beautiful and totally unspoilt coastline. The immediate area is a haven for wildlife. Deer are regularly seen close to the house and rare osprey, golden eagles, seals and otters are all spotted close by. There are superb walks and climbs direct from the house and the dramatic peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt dominate the skyline of this wild and unspoilt Highland region. Beach 3¾ miles. Shop 500 yards, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 700 yards.
