Gorgeous period cottage with lovely garden next to Sugar Sands beach, Longhoughton

This chic, period, five star gold award cottage in Longhoughton a mid Northumberland coastal village is a beautiful coastal getaway, for family or friends, to christmas gatherings to a romantic weekend with your partner. It has four beautiful bedrooms, (three kingsize, one twin) with pretty sash windows overlooking the lovely cottage garden.
The light and airy master suite on the first floor has a large roll top bath for you to relax in, and a double walk in shower from which you can glimpse the sea.
It has one ground floor bedroom with a luxury shower room, a large family bathroom with bath/overhead shower and a stunning, stylishly furnished lounge/dining room, which in Victorian times was the village reading room. Now you can relax into the large comfortable sofas in front of the wood-burning stove and enjoy your favourite novel or cook up a culinary delight in the well-equipped country kitchen with a range cooker, washer/dryer and a dishwasher.
Its large, enclosed, pretty cottage garden is a great place to relax and unwind. Only a two minute drive from the cottage down a farm track, is the beautiful sandy beach, Sugar Sands, soft white sand and rock pools... perfect for children!
If you want to explore the Northumberland Heritage Coast e.g. Alnwick Castle and Garden the cottage is perfectly situated.
We provide child and baby friendly equipment available on request and linen and complementary toiletries. The cottage is only five minutes drive from Alnwick Castle, Coast cottage is perfect for Alnwick Castle wedding- party accommodation.
Our changeover days are Friday and Monday as this is when we are able to get our cleaners.
We will accept 2 well behaved dogs , there will be a £20 charge per dog
Honeysuckle and lavender adorn the cottage and garden throughout the summer months.The large rear garden is fully enclosed and the large lawned areas provide plenty of safe space for children to play. In the summer when the many trees are in leaf the garden is extremely private so is perfect for alfresco dining or an evening barbecue.
If you are feeling energetic head down the farm lane at the side of the cottage to the beautiful coastal path, take in the sea air or enjoy a walk or bike ride along the beautiful sandy bay. It is a pleasant twenty minute walk to reach the beach or take the car and be there in a couple of minutes. With plenty of free parking on the links you can stay all day if you wish.
Within the village there is a handy convenience store for all your necessities, which also has a DVD rental corner, great for keeping the kids entertained on a rainy afternoon. There is also a post office and a pretty Saxon church, well worth a look.
Asda deliver groceries to the area on request and there is a large Sainsbury’s in nearby Alnwick. In the same location is large new leisure centre with swimming pool. The village of Longhoughton lies just 4.5 miles east of Alnwick.
There are pubs in surrounding villages, the nearest being The Fishing Boat Inn at Boulmer just three minutes drive away. There are some fine restaurants within Alnwick town centre and the surrounding areas. Blackmore’s in Alnwick offers contemporary and innovative cuisine, the very unusual Tree House restaurant in the Alnwick Garden, with its magical setting high up in the treetops uses all locally sourced produce and organic meats and Wilkins Fine Dining will do in house catering if you require a special meal for a birthday or celebration.

This cottage is located in Alnwick. Howick Hall and Alnwick Castle are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Alnmouth Village Golf Club and Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre. Lilidorei at The Alnwick Garden and Eshott Heugh Animal Park are also worth visiting.
