Delightful Georgian Country Manor between Cambridge and the Norfolk Coast, Diss

Suffolk. Sleeps up to 21

Enjoy a memorable stay with friends and family in our beloved house, ideal for large gatherings, offering plenty of room and privacy as well as wonderful socialising and togetherness opportunities for adults and kids alike with large private garden, and many spacious living areas.

Built in the early 19th century to a design dating from the 1760s , the ivy-clad, solid house presents itself with confidence, dominating the local landscape, and has been in our family since 1946.

Internally, the house has been sensitively modernised, with particular care taken to preserve many of the original features. There is a wonderful grand staircase and the pretty, decorative fireplaces make an attractive feature in each of the bedrooms. Tall ceilings, sash windows, chandeliers and dado rails all evoke its Georgian splendour.

The splash of modernity is provided by the double-sized walk-in showers, roll-top baths and comfortable beds, all of which ensure that modern expectations are met, even when you seem to have stepped back in time. For such a large building, the heating system is impressive, a glowing testament to the effectiveness of the energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly bio-mass boiler.

A grand staircase leads you to the spacious bedrooms which are superbly lit by natural light, thrown through the large original sash and bay windows. Tall ceilings adorned by chandeliers, beautifully decorated and furnished bedrooms with period furniture and brand new king size beds or convenient singles for teenagers and children. Full size single guest beds pop up to deliver even more sleeping options, with a cot available for tots.
En-suite bathrooms for all but two of the bedrooms give guests a great deal of privacy. Super-sized double walk-in showers and gorgeous roll-top baths lend to the feel of utter decadence.
Both the formal Drawing and Dining rooms will play host to the smartest drinks reception or supper whilst a 'Snug', equipped with squishy, relaxing and informal sofas, bean bags and chairs will be the bolt hole for nights in front of the TV or children looking for a den to play and hide from their parents.
Bressingham Hall now offers a newly refurbished ground floor suite. The level access bathroom with w.c. and walk-in shower may be used separately from the twin bedroom, as both rooms are approached through the 'Old Gun Room', which now hosts a six foot snooker table.
Bressingham Hall is set in 12 acres of beautiful tended gardens that flourish throughout the seasons. The pretty rural landscapes of the River Waveney Valley, marking the border between Norfolk and Suffolk, an can be enjoyed on foot or by bicycle from the edge of the grounds.
The Hall is self-catering but for a truly relaxing stay, our local personal cooks can be booked to pamper you.
What better treat for garden lovers, the ultimate getaway. Impressive at any time, this would be the perfect choice for a special family get together, an important birthday or any celebration.

Located in Diss, this vacation home is in a rural area. Bressingham Steam and Gardens and Theatre Royal are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Dunston Hall and High Lodge Thetford Forest. Traveling with kids? Consider Banham Zoo, or check out an event or a game at Snetterton Race Circuit. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
