A perfect location for walking holidays. This ancient path, its origins lost in the mists of time, is a gently undulating route ideal for walkers, horse riders and mountain bikers as it crosses perhaps one of the finest sections of the Offa's Dyke Trail. ChurchstokeThis Kerry Ridgeway holiday cottage is situated high above Churchstoke at 1,175 ft, the garden fence forming the boundary between Wales and England. There is a pretty church in the centre, which is a conservation area, a large supermarket (Harry Tuffins), as well as a primary school, two public houses (The Horse and Jockey and The Court House Hotel), a Chinese takeaway and fresh locally made ice cream. A market is also held here on Sundays. Guests staying in the Jkerry Ridgeway holiday cottage can dine in style at The Checkers Restaurant - recently awarded a Michelin Star - the six or nine course tasting menus, either for lunch or dinner, are true gourmet treats!Shrewsbury and LudlowShrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire and picturesque Ludlow are both well worth a visit and a delight to explore - shops and restaurants galore.
