The magnificent White Horses stands in the heart of Bantham village. The breathtaking panoramic views across the Avon Estuary, Bantham and Burgh Island in the distance, truly make this majestic property very special. Steeped in rich history, the 19th century house offers the perfect retreat and entertainment factor. Accommodating 11 guests across the bedrooms and an additional 5 guests on the overflow sofa beds, an opportunity for all your family and friends to be based in one single location.

This fantastic property is unique due to its versatility. White Horses property is comprised of smaller apartments to make up the entire house.
The whole house comprises of the ‘Main House’, ‘River View’, ‘Island View’ and ‘Butter Bay’.

Upon entry to the main house you are welcomed with a brightly lit entrance hall with globe pendant hanging lights and ample coat hanging space. To the right, a small vanity room can be found. Further into the entrance hall, next to the bathroom a large utility and wet room offers a washing machine, tumble dryer and shower with access from the main house and outside door. Perfect for beach days to leave wetsuits and towels and wash off sandy toes before emerging back into the entrance hall.

Directly across from the utility, a set of large wooden doors open into the fantastic open plan shaker style kitchen diner. This massive entertainment area offers two fantastic farmhouse kitchen tables, a full whole wall bookshelf and writers desk. The main kitchen makes perfect for large dinner parties with all the family and friends dining together. The kitchen is fully equipped with two ovens, built in fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and much more. Large French doors open fully out onto the sheltered patio area that overlooks the garden. The indoor – outdoor dining functionality of White Horses is a brilliant feature of this property and allows for inclusion of all in one place.

The garden is what childhood dreams are made of. The huge lawn garden turns easily into an adventure playground for hide and seek, football tournaments, or even building dens. A hidden pathway through the hedge leads down to the estuary where the passing tide provides endless hours of fun. Whether you wish to leap into the water and let the ‘Swoosh’ carry you down the estuary or explore the marine conservation zone and area of outstanding natural beauty via paddleboards, endless amounts of excitement and memories made are here to be had !

Back into the house, just off the kitchen, a small set of stairs lead you into the lounge snug where a wide screen TV and log burner reside for those cosy evenings where the doors can be shut and a hideaway retreat emerges.
The entrance hall homes the grand contemporary staircase leading you to the first floor where the main house master bedroom, the gorgeous White Room is
found. Waking up in the super comfy super king size bed, overlooking the beautiful view of the garden and coast, is that of dreams and direct access onto the balcony. Next door, the bunk bed room offers a double bed bottom and single bed top, perfect for the kids.
The family bathroom can be found diagonally across the landing and includes the bath and overhead shower, toilet and sink.

Adjacent to the main house family bathroom, Island View apartment is accessed via its kitchen or lounge door. Island View has a spacious lounge with doors opening onto the balcony with the bedroom overlooking the panoramic views of the Avon estuary, Bantham coastline and Burgh Island in the distance. Island View lounge also doubles up as a bedroom on the double sofa bed. A wooden bookshelf spans across a wall with a plethora of reading material for your enjoyment, plus a small TV. A through door leads to Island View’s spacious super king sized bed bedroom with wardrobe space and draws. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a bath and overhead shower, basin, toilet and heated towel rail. The apartment’s small kitchen is accessed from Island View’s bedroom, the main house hallway, or the kitchen door at the top of the external wooden steps at the side of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with essential appliances inclusive of a toaster, kettle, microwave and crockery, a small 2 seated breakfast table, oven and hob, dishwasher and under counter fridge-freezer.

River View apartment is reached by following the long corridor around from the main house staircase landing and access is via its kitchen door into the open plan kitchen and lounge. Alternative access to River View is from the top of the same external wooden steps as for Island View .Again this lounge doubles up as an overflow accommodation on the double sofa bed. Just off the lounge, River View bedroom and en-suite can be found. This super king sized bedroom offers drawer storage and a lovely view through the trees to the Avon Estuary. The en-suite for River View is equipped with a shower, toilet and sink.

The final apartment is Butter Bay. This apartment is a wonderful ground floor living area inclusive of a super king size bedroom, with views of the Avon Estuary, a bathroom adjacent to the bedroom and an open plan kitchen lounge. The bathroom is equipped with a wide shower, toilet and sink. The lounge doubles up as additional accommodation for guests on the single sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, an oven and hob, under counter fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and dishwasher. Access to Butter Bay can either be through the outside door at the right hand side of the house or through to the main house via the entrance hall.

White Horses is a truly versatile property. The beauty of staying here provides each family cluster with the opportunity to socialize together as a massive group or enjoy their own time in their residing apartment. Feeling cramped is not something that is necessary when renting White Horses. White Horses can also be rented alongside Carew which is situated next door which will accommodate a further 8 people.

White Horses parking allows for up to 6 cars to be parked on the driveway.

Located in Kingsbridge, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Salcombe Maritime Museum and Overbecks Museum and Garden are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Start Point Lighthouse and Saltram House. Sea N Shore and Slapton Ley Field Centre are also worth visiting. Looking to get your feet wet? Motor boating, sailing and surfing/body boarding adventures can be found near the property.
