Idyllic rural location in Diggle, Saddleworth. 2 Bed., Oldham

Greater Manchester. Sleeps up to 4

Perfect family friendly cottage offering two bedroomed accommodation, with a double and twin room on the first floor, along with a family sized bathroom with a bath and "over the bath" Grohe shower.
Downstairs, there is living space with kitchen and dining areas and a seating area with a large sofa and a traditional wood burning stove. There is a large glazed window offering breathtaking views South down and across the valley, over open fields. Underfloor heating provides a comfortable environment in which to sit and relax; maybe watching the flat screen TV/DVD after a long day out exploring the area.

Children are very welcome at the farm and we have high chairs and travel cots (for under 2's) and safety gates as well as a good selection of books, games, dvds and toys. We also provide child friendly crockery and cutlery.

Adjacent to Jim's Barn is Jenny's Cottage (which can be interlinked)

All bed linen and towels are provided.

A complimentary pack including newly laid eggs from the farm, (when available), tea, coffee, milk etc. will be waiting for you on arrival.

There is level access to the upstairs of Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage from the car parking area, and a newly built gently sloping cobbled drive with handrail to access the front doors. Each cottage has a parking space (more can be provided if required) on the dedicated cottage car park.

Locally there is so much to see and do! See the Local Info page on our website for more details.

Environmentally friendly: Both cottages benefit from state of the art environmentally friendly features such as:

Ground Source Heat Pump which provides the heating and hot water.
Solar PV is installed and provides up to 18.5KWatts of power to the farm.
Rainwater harvesting means that the washing machines and toilets reuse water from the skies.
Underfloor Heating provides a comfortable constant temperature, and not only is environmentally sound, but creates a healthy environment especially for asthma sufferers.
We have recently received a 'Silver' Trip Advisor Award for our green credentials, of which we are very proud.

We are non-smoking and sorry, we can't accept pets.

Diggle House Farm has been in the same family ownership for five generations. Two stone barns and a Cottage have been developed to a very high standard (4*) for up to 9 self-catering guests. Offering great flexibility to accommodate larger families, grandparents or carers, the cottages can be rented as a whole with five bedrooms (Master King Size and en-suite) or the cottages can be split into completely separate one and two bedroom cottages, sleeping two, three and four respectively. Each cottage has it's own kitchen, bathroom, living and dining areas and the double adjoining doors connecting Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage are soundproofed offering complete separation.

Free WiFi is available in all of our cottages.

Nell's Cottage is a separate self contained two bed cottage and has all the same facilities as Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage but in addition has it''s own South facing walled garden, (a real sun trap on a sunny day!)

The farm is located approximately one mile from the village of Diggle, which has two pubs, Post Office and village shop. There is a Band Club and a Children’s Activity Centre, along with three children’s parks, a country park, famous Canal Tunnel and acres and acres of green belt land with walks, cycling and bridleways.

Slightly further and you are in the the other villages that make up the area of Saddleworth, with pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops

Located in Oldham, this cottage is in a rural area. Saddleworth Museum and Lyceum Theatre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Saddleworth Golf Club and Transpennine Real Ale Trail. Traveling with kids? Consider Stonerig Raceway and Top Gun Flight Simulator Centre. Fishing and swimming offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with ecotours and cycling nearby.
