Brighton Lanes Apartment 2, Brighton

West Sussex. Sleeps up to 2

Welcome to Brighton Lanes Apartments: your home-from-home in the heart of Brighton's lanes located just off Ship Street Gardens. This larger than average studio apartment is on the lower ground floor and sleeps two adults with fully equipped kitchen (incl. dishwasher), dining area, corner sofa-bed, large TV with free Netflix, luxury shower room, separate bedroom annex with king size bed & access to a small private terrace. (NB: up to two children are welcome on request for an extra fee)

Kitchen Area: The modern fitted kitchen was refurbished in January 2023 and has everything you will need including two ring hob, microwave oven and grill, dishwasher and fridge with freezer compartment. This stylish kitchen is well equipped for you to be fully self-catered with plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots & pans. We provide a 'French Press’ for coffee lovers and also a Tassimo machine but you’ll need to buy the coffee pods from the supermarket. We also provide tea bags, instant coffee and sugar.

There's an iron & ironing board, vacuum cleaner, hairdryer and cleaning products inside the hallway cupboard. There's also a communal laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer located just outside in the courtyard and this is shared with Apartment 1 which is just next door.

Dining Area: Table and chairs for up to four people giving you enough space to enjoy dining together or maybe use it as a desk for work. There is a high speed VirginMedia wifi router inside the apartment which provides a good service however mobile phone coverage inside this apartment is not brilliant unless you switch 'wifi calling' on via your smart phone.

Living Area: Laze around on the comfy corner sofa and watch the wall mounted Smart HD TV with integrated DVD player and we even offer guests free access to our own Netflix account. The L shaped seating area is sociable, comfortable and coverts into a sofa bed (NB: bedding for the sofa bed is only provide on request). For music lovers there's also a DAB & CD micro hifi system with Bluetooth to connect your own music devices.

Bedroom Area: King size bed in its own private annex with a thick curtain for privacy which gives a couple staying with small children some privacy and there’s also a small wall mounted TV above the bed with built in DVD player for the grown ups to enjoy.

Shower room: Lovely bright and shiny hotel finish shower room with an excellent power shower in a corner cubicle, small wall mounted wash basin, adjustable mirror, heated towel rail and WC. Each guest is provided with a large bath towel (extras on request) as well as hand towels and a bathmat. We also provide complimentary Duck Island shower gel, shampoo and hand soap along with plenty of toilet tissue too. You can easily store all of your stuff in the large wardrobe with hanging rail located located just outside the shower room.

Courtyard: The small private terrace is accessed from the bedroom where there is a small table and chairs for you to enjoy.

Bits and Bobs: Apartments 1 and 2 are on the lower ground floor of our building but this lower floor is not connected internally to the upper floors. Instead they share a hallway and entrance door leading out on to a courtyard (with a small laundry with washing machine & timber dryer shared between both studios which is located in the old Victorian WC block). Old stone outside steps run above the laundry and take you up to a platform at ground floor level (with a guest bike rack should you want need it) and a secure gate leads out on to Ship Street Gardens which is arguably one of Brighton’s most beautiful ancient twittens - an Olde Sussex word meaning ‘lane’. This brick paved pedestrian lane is less than 100 meters long running between Ship Street to the east (where the front of our building is located) and Middle Street to the west with some beautiful cottages and shops along it’s whole length. We have three more apartments on the upper floors of the building but these are all let to long term residents and they use a different entrance on Ship Street.

Other things to note:

(1) STREET NOISE AT WEEKENDS: If you’re looking for total peace and quiet, please be aware that we are right in the centre of Brighton’s Old Town and it can get quiet noisy out on the streets around our building throughout Friday and Saturday nights. All of this is beyond our control - however, our prices do reflect this fact as similar apartments in Brighton rent for over £100/night. That said, the apartment has double glazing and we even provide ear plugs for the really light sleepers. In reality, you are far more likely to be disturbed by Brighton’s seagull population who never seem to sleep!

(2) HOME SAFETY: We are professional landlords and as such you can be assured that the whole building (containing five apartments all of which we own) meets all current safety standards. The building is also protected by a modern, fully maintained fire detection system with smoke and heat detectors in each apartment connected to a control panel in the communal hallway. The system is tested every Thursday morning by our contractors at Brighton Fire Alarms.

Located by the sea, this apartment is in Brighton City Centre, a neighborhood in Brighton. South Downs National Park and Ditchling Common Country Park reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include The "Doughnut and Brighton Pier. Traveling with kids? Consider SEA LIFE Brighton, or check out an event or a game at Brighton Racecourse. Discover the area's water adventures with jet skiing and kayaking nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with mountain biking and hiking.
