Once an important Saxon fishing village and later a haven for smugglers, Beadnell is somewhat more tranquil these days and is popular amongst holiday makers for its sandy beaches, village shop and pubs, which serve food. With another renowned village nearby â Seahouses â the range of local amenities increases to include a supermarket and various restaurants as well as boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands. These small outcrops are famed amongst bird watchers for their wealth of species. However, if you're looking for a more urban environment Bamburgh is close by, as is the market town of Alnwick.
Located in Chathill, this cottage is by the sea. RNLI Grace Darling Museum and Belford and District Hidden History are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Preston Tower and Bamburgh Castle.
