Our family house, the Tigh, is in Polbain by Achiltibuie. It has over the last few years been re-furbished and comfortably furnished. It consists of three bedrooms - a double, a single and a twin with additional bunks, a bathroom with power shower, a living room with an open fire and sofa-bed, an open-plan hallway and dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen.
The house is reached by steps from above through a gate onto the road opposite Polbain Stores. It has mains electricity, mains water, full oil-fired central heating and water heating plus combined gas and electric cooking. It also has hard-wired internet. All electricity, water, gas, oil and the internet are included in the cost of rental, as are bed-linen, towels and a final cleaning.
Located in Ullapool, this cottage is by the sea. The Bone Caves and Rua Reidh Lighthouse are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Knockan Crag and Inverkirkaig Beach. Scuba diving and windsurfing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with ecotours and cave exploring nearby.
