Bourblach, Morar Near Mallaig

Highland. Sleeps up to 8

Resting rurally in Morar near Mallaig in the Highlands is Bourblach, a fabulous three-bedroom property. Enjoying far-reaching countryside views, and an ever-changing vista of the White Sands of Morar, whilst offering a homely base with an open fire, original stone walls, and flexible sleeping arrangements, the cottage welcomes eight guests, looking for a tranquil getaway. Park up on the private driveway, taking in your peaceful surroundings and sensational view, before entering the traditionally-styled living/dining room, where you can unwind, light the fire, and plan your impending itinerary. Move into the kitchen/diner to fulfil your self-catered needs, featuring all expected appliances including the cast-iron cooker and boiler, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer, before enjoying a meal together around the kitchen table. Just off the kitchen is the sitting room, the TV with a Sky Q Box and an impressive selection of books, games and CDs, perfect for entertaining the entire family, before embarking on a walk around the sweeping garden. When sleep calls, choose between the three well-presented bedrooms, including a double, a twin, and a family room, each with its own wash-hand basin and serviced by a bathroom with roll-top bath and a ground-floor shower room for convenience. Awaken to a morning coffee whilst enjoying views of the famous Silver Sands of Morar, before embarking on your journey around the county, perhaps starting off with a visit to the Mallaig Heritage Centre or enjoying a trip upon horseback across Silver Sands courtesy of the local trekking centre, or simply enjoy the delightful and secluded beaches that lie just over the hill from the property, or the world-famous Local Hero beach at Camusdarach which is less than four miles away. If you want to travel further afield, Armdale on the Isle of Skye can be reached via the ferry port. Tour the local castle, gardens, and museum, or if you take the car and time permits, visit some of Skye's beauty spots including Fairy Pools, before catching the ferry back to Mallaig. The harbour is also where you get the boat to Inverie on Knoydart, home to the Old Forge, the most remote pub on mainland Britain. If you drove to Bourblach you will have passed the Harry Potter Viaduct at Glenfinnan. During the summer months Harry Potter fans and steam train enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the sight of two steam trains hooting and tooting their way past Morar, a mile or so from the house, twice a day, on the final stage of their run to Mallaig from Fort William and back. Take to the Highlands with Bourblach as your base. EPC Rating: Band G
