Broadacre, spacious home in peaceful location near Bantham Beach, South Devon, Kingsbridge

Devon. Sleeps up to 10

Broadacre is situated in the valley of West Buckland Village in a secluded and peaceful location, though only a 15 minute walk to the bustling surfing village of Bantham with its renound large sandy beach overlooking Burgh Island and Bigbury Bay in glorious South Devon.

Arriving at Broadacre you are met with a spacious drive with parking for two cars. The front of the house has been gorgeously renovated with stairs leading to the front door and in the right season, wonderful blooming flowers decorate the front area. Entering the blue door, you are welcomed by a large entrance hall, which includes a cloak cupboard and shoe storage area. As you ascend the carpeted steps, modern art creates a story to this home. Before reaching the lounge, you are met with a grand writing table and chair positioned with an outdoor window view. It is the perfect scene for reading a book, writing a postcard or simply enjoying the space.

The lounge hosts a great space for relaxation and family time; with plenty of comfy sofas, a television and a log burner, especially toasty for those autumn and winter evenings! Broadacre is fitted with WiFi throughout the house. Sliding doors off this room open up the lounge with a small glass balcony at the front of the house.

Next we come to the kitchen and dining room combined. This large room is broken into 3 sections, a large family kitchen, spacious dining area to seat 10 and the casual conservatory seating area with bifold doors to the patio. Upon entry from the lounge, the kitchen is situated to the right hand side of the room. Equipped with a spacious walk-in pantry, American style fridge freezer with water and ice dispenser, a ‘Country Range’ oven and glass top hob with electric and fan ovens, microwave and dishwasher. An island in the center of the kitchen makes for additional prep space for your dinner parties and snack displays.

The utility room runs off the kitchen and is complete with a washing machine, small under counter fridge, hanging air dryer, cupboard space and sink. Just outside the backdoor Broadacre has its very own outdoor ‘Hot and Cold’ option tiled shower area - great for coming home from the beach, washing off before entering the house. The utility also includes access to one of the bathrooms - allowing you to nip through the back door into the bathroom, opposed to traipsing sand through the house. This bathroom can be accessed via two doors – from the utility and the hallway on the opposite side, which leads to the three ground floor bedrooms.

Each bedroom is fitted with an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom one (left hand side) includes a double bed, reading chair and en-suite with a shower, basin and toilet. Bedroom two (center bedroom) comes complete with a double bed, wardrobe space and an en-suite with a bath-shower, basin and toilet. Bedroom three (right hand side) is complete with a divan bed that can accommodate two singles or one super-king bed. Fitted with an en-suite with a shower, basin and toilet.

From the hallway, down the steps, you reach the kitchen again where the fantastic farmhouse kitchen table stands gallantly in the center of the room, seating up to 10 people and for those chilly nights, a log burner too.

A staircase off the dining room area ascends to the master bedroom. This elegantly bright and airy room features large windows overlooking the orchard, a king size bed and modern art displayed on the walls. This grand bedroom has an incredible en-suite including a large soaking bath, walk in shower, His & Her sinks, a toilet and the cherry on the cake; a spacious walk-in wardrobe off the bathroom. There is also a comfortable twin bedroom upstairs which although not ensuite is only a just few steps away from the downstairs bathroom so still very convenient for guests.

Descending back to the open-plan kitchen diner, you arrive at the conservatory area with sofa seats and direct access into the garden patio area. As you emerge from the conservatory onto the patio you are met with the garden lounging furniture, perfect for hanging out with friends and family soaking up the sun. Potted plants surround the paved area providing a touch of greenery that contrasts nicely with the stoned walling. From the lounging area, you descend a couple of steps where the 10-seater al-fresco table is kept. The area is fenced off with creeping shrubs and potted plants.
The garden includes a BBQ on the grassy verge to the right of the patio doors.

Located in Kingsbridge, this vacation home is in a rural area and on a river. Overbecks Museum and Garden and Start Point Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Bigbury Golf Club and Salcombe to Bolt Head Walk. Sea N Shore and Salcombe Maritime Museum are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with sailing, surfing/body boarding, and swimming nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with hiking.
