Town: Kirkby Lonsdale is a charming market town located in the Lune Valley, halfway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The town has a 13th-century Market Charter and was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. Today, Thursday is market day, giving tourists the chance to explore the town's unique independent stores and numerous still-standing structures from the 17th and 18th centuries. Additionally, the town was a nominee for the 2016 High Street of the Year Award. Turner loved to visit this area of the Lune Valley, and Ruskin made it renowned; his "view" of the valley is still breath-taking.

The Enchanted Chocolate Mine and Westmorland County Showground are also worth visiting. Explore all the area has to offer with hiking/biking trails, rock climbing, and cycling.
