The market town of Kendal is within easy reach, with The Brewery Arts Centre offering diverse entertainment. The small, picturesque town of Sedbergh, nestling at the foot of the beautiful Howgill Fells is worth a visit with its range of little shops, cafes and gastro pubs and is an excellent start point to some wonderful fell walking for hardy walkers. The River Lune Aqueduct is an impressive engineering feat, and the Lancaster City Museum is well worth a visit.
