Formerly a hay barn and piggery, Millers Lodge is situated in the setting of the Old Mill that stopped working in the 1960’s but has since been restored to a beautiful dwelling whilst maintaining many of its original features. Miller’s Lodge is a fantastic base for a couple seeking a tranquil and romantic retreat, surrounded by the rolling Cornish countryside and with easy access to the coast, yet Only 10 minutes from the town of Liskeard. Leave your vehicle in the off-road parking space, before making your way into your new home from home. Be welcomed into the light and airy open-plan living space, where you can look forward to relaxing after a busy day exploring what Cornwall has to offer. Impress your other half with tasty meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, formally the old piggery, featuring a handy washing machine and dishwasher. Savour your meal at the dining table for two or, If the weather is nice you might choose to fire up the barbecue and eat in the enclosed patio area!. After dinner, retire to the sitting room where you can kick-back and relax on the plush sofas in front of your favourite show on the TV with Freeview. There is also an electric fire for cooler evenings. On those warmer evenings, you may decide to take a drink out into the enclosed garden area where you can relax to the sounds of the birds and the river. We would certainly recommend doing a spot of star gazing at night! Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day in the beautifully tiled shower room, before catching your rest in the cosy and comfortable double bedroom. The single-track Looe Valley Railway line passes within 100 yards of the property, with the St Keyne Wishing Well a request stop away, meaning guests can enjoy a train ride into the picturesque fishing port of Looe or up to the main line at Liskeard and beyond. Within Liskeard, you will find a wider selection of amenities, which include 2 well-stocked convenience stores, and the welcoming eateries of The King Doniert, The Himalayan Spice and Rumours, so there is plenty to choose from when you don’t feel like cooking! For a day at the beach, head over to Looe, where you can bathe on the golden sands, and explore the delights the fishing town has to offer, or head over to Polperro, a neighbouring fishing village with its Harbour and Heritage Museum, dine at the Blue Peter Inn, or embark on a scenic hike along the famous Southwest Coast Path, offering some of the best sights and scenery in the area. Why not put on your walking boots and explore the wide-open spaces of the Cornish moors, steeped in mining history with its old engine houses still standing proud above the land scape and take in the views that stretch for miles.
