Be sure to hike up the Sugarloaf, one of the highest peaks in the Black Mountains, which offers incomparable views at its top or down into the Usk Valley. Take the short drive over to Abergavenny, where you can explore the historic delights of its museum in the ruins of the town's former magnificent castle. Immerse yourself in local life, where you can peruse the many indoor and outdoor markets, picnic in the idyllic Bailey Park or Linda Vista Gardens or test out your clubs at the excellent Monmouthshire Golf Club. Blaenavon is a well-worth a visit for its world famous Big Pit National Coal Museum and The Pontypool and Blaenavon Heritage Railway, whilst the imposing castle ruins and breath-taking scenery awaits you in Crickhowell.
