Lake District. Sleeps up to 4

Broughton-In-Furness 2.6 miles.Tucked away on the outskirts of Thwaites near Broughton-In-Furness in Cumbria, is this wonderful two-bedroom stable conversion, The Stables. Enjoying a superb location within the Lake District National Park, next to the owner’s home, and characterful features throughout, including original woodwork and stalls, The Stables is perfect for a couple or family of four who are looking to add a touch of character to their escape to the Lakes. Be welcomed into the inviting sitting room, where you can relax in the warmth of the electric fire as your favourite show plays out on the TV. Rustle up mouth-watering meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, with handy dishwasher and washing machine, ready to enjoy at the dining table for four. If the weather is nice, why not fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco on your private decking? Wash away the day with a soothing soak in the bath or refreshing rinse in the shower, before whipping up a hot chocolate before bed. As your eyes grow heavy, retire to one of two well-presented bedrooms, a king-size and a bunk room which has a historic feature of a ladder formerly used to access the hayloft. After savouring your morning coffee out in the garden, take advantage of the footpath that runs through it, leading towards Duddon Valley and Black Combe. For your amenities, head over to Broughton-In-Furness, where you can indulge in a traditional pub lunch at the Old Kings Head or the 18th-century Black Cock Inn in front of a crackling woodburning stove. The bustling town also offers a newsagent, petrol station and second-hand bookshop. Continue onto Milom which rests along the coast, where you can spend a day bathing on the beach, wandering up the Hodbarrow Haverigg Lighthouse or soaking up the wildlife-rich surroundings of the RSPB Hodbarrow. Venture further into the Lake District National Park, where you will find Coniston Water, where you can take to the waters by kayak, canoe or paddle board or if you want to simply sit back and soak up the views, enjoy a National Trust Steam Yacht Gondola. Other attractions include The Ruskin Museum and Brantwood. A trip to the Lakes would not be complete without a visit to Windermere, where you can take in the exceptional views from Queen Adelaide’s Hill or Orrest Head, visit The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, or embark on a treetop trek at Treetop Lake District. All this awaits with a stay at The Stables.
