Birchmill Cottage, Crook

Lake District. Sleeps up to 8

A tranquil setting amongst green rolling countryside and stylish yet homely accommodation for you at Birchmill Cottage. Stone-flagged floors, exposed beams, and gloriously soothing views from every window make this a really special place to discover and get away from it all! Blessed with outstanding views and a lovely private garden with furniture for you to sit out and soak it all in, Birchmill Cottage is a luxurious property set amidst plenty of quiet country lanes and footpaths to be explored or for walking your dogs, who are very welcome here. Your party will certainly enjoy the cosiness of the traditionally beamed lounge, with its characterful wood-burner set in a rustic, timber-linteled hearth. And while enjoying the old world charm of the crackling fire and the blissful country surroundings, you can keep the modern world at your fingertips with the inclusive WiFi. In the rural back-country, a few miles away from bustling Bowness, Birchmill Cottage sits in the lovely hamlet of Crook. Tucked down a peaceful country lane, this is the perfect spot to escape the world. The Winster and Lyth Valleys are green and picture-book pretty, garnished with gorgeous damson blossom in spring. Yet the many attractions of Bowness are close by at Birchmill, and with Ambleside and the central fells not far away, this is a great location from which to explore the Lakes. You will certainly want to spend a day cruising Lake Windermere on the famous steamers that frequent Bowness Pier. And closer to home, the Sun Inn at Crook, just a stroll away, has a growing reputation for its tasty fayre and selection of real ales. Not a bad way to wind down before bed after a day getting out and about in the beautiful Lake District!
