Dale View, Fryup Near Lealholm

North York Moors. Sleeps up to 13

Lealholm 3 miles. Situated in the idyllic countryside of the beautiful North York Moors National Park is this fabulous, detached Grade 2 listed Barn Conversion, Dale View. Boasting unbeatable countryside views across to the Dale Head and plenty of off-road parking, this peaceful property makes for a fantastic base for a family holiday. On arrival at the cottage, make your way through the delightful garden and into the kitchen/diner, which houses a traditional dual fuel stove range cooker offering six gas hobs and four electric ovens and a Wok burner the chef of the group will be pleased to cook on. Gather at the large, bespoke wooden dining table to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal as a family, before nominating someone to load the dishwasher while the group settles in the sitting room, which offers expansive views over Great Fryup Dale from three large windows. Catch up on your favourite TV shows or play a DVD while the woodburning stove crackles nearby, or if you prefer a bit of space, make your way into the snug to read a good book with a cup of tea. When sleep calls, take your pick from six well-presented bedrooms; the ground floor hosts a king-size bedroom, along with another king-size and a triple bunk which are accessed via the snug and are serviced by a convenient bathroom. Up the stairs, discover the remaining three bedrooms which consist of a king-size with a Velux window allowing plenty of light into the space, a twin with charming character features, and a final king-size with an en-suite shower room. Completing the interior of the cottage is another family bathroom, perfect for rinsing off after a busy day, and an abundance of characterful features including exposed stone walls, stone windowsills and pretty bay window seating. Back on the ground floor, make your way outside to enjoy the garden with barbecue and breath-taking countryside views; furniture offers an alternative dining arrangement, while the lawn and play areas give your little ones and furry friends the space to run and play. There are plenty of things to do while staying at Dale View, including the abundance of walking and cycling routes within the beautiful landscapes of the North York Moors National Park and the fascinating Museum of Victorian Science, which is within easy reach of the property by car. Be sure to make a stop at the Yorkshire Cycle Hub, where you will find everything a budding a budding Bradley Wiggins could wish for, including bikes for hire, a café for grabbing a quick bite to eat whilst soaking up the impressive views of Fryup Dale. Nearby, you will find the delightful Country Cooks Larder, stocked with freshly prepared takeaway meals, coffee, delicious cakes, and gifts and jewellery, perfect for picking up a souvenir, or even a lovingly prepared buffet to enjoy in your holiday home with your guests, perfect for those nights where you don’t feel like cooking! Sample the local delights at one of several fantastic pubs, where you can savour a pub lunch or indulge in the local ales. Spend a day in the bustling seaside town of Whitby, home to the grand Whitby Abbey, a 7th century monastery popular amongst tourists and well-known as being the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Be sure to take advantage of the gorgeous sandy beach while in the area where you can soak up the sun or enjoy some fish and chips in the fresh sea air, or perhaps climb the famous 199 Steps and be rewarded with some of the most scenic views in the area. Heading towards the stunning Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you will find the picture-perfect National Trust property, Nunnington Hall, perfect for a day of wandering the manicured gardens before stopping to relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake from the tearoom. Bring your friends and family for a memorable stay at Dale View.
