Custom House Apartment, Cardigan

Dyfed. Sleeps up to 2

Custom House Apartment is a great opportunity to stay in a central location in the heart of Cardigan town, West Wales. The apartment is tucked above the thriving town in the tranquility of this beautiful Grade II listed building, formerly Cardigan's Customs House built in 1836, when Cardigan had it's hey day as a large sea port. The apartment is packed with original features and quirky décor. Custom House Shop and gallery on the ground floor has been trading for almost 30 years and the Custom House Apartment runs across the entire first floor of this beautiful historic building. You enter the property via a staircase into a spacious living/dining area, boasting arched floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the roof tops and brightly coloured buildings to the hills beyond. Cuddle up by the television as you enjoy a DVD night on the Flatscreen TV or simply wind down with some peaceful music on the CD Player and a glass of wine in hand, after a delicious home-cooked meal together at the dining table. End the evening out on the balcony, admiring the historic views of the 12th century Cardigan Castle. Moving through the property, there is a fully-fitted kitchen, where you can prepare a delightful picnic to take to the beach, as well as a handy washing machine to wash any sandy clothes, and after a long day exploring, you can escape to the double bedroom and watch some television as you rest and rejuvenate, or look out onto the views of the brightly coloured buildings and the hills beyond. Start each new day by freshening up in the en-suite shower room, before savouring a morning coffee on the balcony, enjoying the tranquil courtyard and castle ground views. Customs House is just a stone's throw away from the ruins of the impressive castle, as well as all the hustle and bustle of Cardigan, with all the amenities you will need, such as shops to grab any essentials or bars and eateries to enjoy an evening out. Custom House Apartment is centrally located to access Cardigan's beautiful heritage and maritime coast; embark on a gentle river boat ride, with views of the vast wildlife or choose a more exhilarating boat ride around Cardigan Island to see the resident population of bottlenose dolphins and seal colony, nestling just below the cliffs at Gwbert. Why Not take a hike from Cardigan, North along the miles of 'Ceredigion Coast Path, or just take an evening stroll to Gwbert, ideal to see the fantastic sunsets across the spectacular Cardigan Bay and it's beautiful coastal landscape, or hike to the South of Cardigan and join the Pembrokeshire footpath heading South along the rugged clifftops of Cemaes Head.Cardigan is surrounded by beautiful countryside, so embrace the nearby Preseli Mountains, which offer wonderful walking and cycling trails, with some stunning views and an ancient stone monument, or for those keen cyclists take on the Number 82 National Cycle Route.
