Blaencamel Organic Farm ShopJust half a mile away from Rose cottage is a fabulously healthy way to start your holiday. Blaencamel is a small family farm nestling in the beautiful Aeron Valley close to picturesque Aberaeron. The farm has its own shop selling a range of salads and vegetables at really reasonable prices and is criss- crossed by a host of country walks. They have also created their own woodland walks for visitors to enjoy. Enjoy a lunch or dinner in the acclaimed Harbourmaster Restaurant (Good Food Guide and Gold Award, Wales), well worth the visit. There is lots to see and do in and around the town - 2 beaches to enjoy, good launching for small boats from the harbour, boat trips to spot the marine life, sea angling, fishing for salmon/sea trout on the River Aeron or take a cycle ride along one of the 5 Wales Cycle Trails. Ceredigion Coastal PathThe walk along the sweeping crescent of Cardigan Bay forms a very special part of the Wales Coast Path. Ceredigion's 60 miles (96 km) section probably has the most varied landscape and terrain of the length of the Wales Coast Path. A popular section of the coast path is the stretch from New Quay to Aberaeron. But the most spectacular part of the Ceredigion Coast Path, is the stretch from Llangranog to Aberaeron great for spotting both marine wildlife and seabirds. Tregaron - a peaceful town and Jane Beck TextilesTregaron nestles in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains near the source of the river Teifi. In the 19th Century, it was a thriving market town and an important stop for drovers on their routes through Wales driving cattle, horses, pigs, geese and sheep to English markets. The town's traditional market, "Ffair Garon" was granted its Royal Charter in 1292 and is still held today. Devils BridgeNestling between the Cambrian Mountains and the Cardigan Bay coastline, Devil's Bridge has been a tourist attraction for centuries, and most recently as a Hinterland film location. Famous for the unique arrangement of its three bridges which are built one on top of the other, you can access via various paths that lead down to either side of the bridges. The longest, steepest path goes right down to the valley floor giving wonderful views of spectacular cascading waterfalls and crossing the raging torrent before climbing back all the way up the other side. HinterlandThe gripping Nordic-noir TV detective drama series set in Aberystwyth against the backdrop of the Cambrian Mountains has been immensely popular with TV audiences. Kite Feeding at Bwlch Nant Yr ArianThis Visitor Centre sits at the head of a dramatic valley with commanding views over Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains, and has some great walking trails fabulous walks. The Red Kites, Wales' National bird of prey, are fed daily between 2 pm -3 pm with up to 150 kites coming in to feed. Quite a spectacle. The Rheidol Valley Steam RailwayExperience an unforgettable journey on a steam train through the magnificent Welsh countryside from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge - enjoy spectacular views of the wooded Rheidol Valley on the hour-long journey. Ty Glyn Walled Gardens Only a short stroll up the road are the wonderful walled gardens with beautiful Victorian planting in a fabulous river side setting, a great place to sit and read your book and savour the solitude. Dolaucothi Gold Mines near LampeterThis National Trust centre shows you man’s search for the precious metal. There's a choice of three underground tours, each one telling a different story of man's quest for gold through the centuries. Get kitted up with a hard hat and lamp and walk in the footsteps of gold miners from centuries past. This characterful converted stone mill makes a cosy cottage base for exploring the lush Ceredigion countryside and stunning Cardigan Bay Coast.
