Those avid cyclists can explore the routes of the Tour de France 2014 and Tour de Yorkshire starting in the town centre, or if you’d prefer to stay on your feet, the gorgeous landscapes of the Peak District National Park are nearby, offering deep woodlands, rugged moors, tranquil lakes and steep hills. Venture into the quaint village of Castleton, a popular honey-pot location with its fascinating Blue John Cavern, along with many independent shops and welcoming pubs. With Sheffield and Huddersfield in easy reach too, Victoria House offers a great touring base, whatever time of year.
