House in Mid Wales, Beulah

Glamorgan. Sleeps up to 7

Situated in a peaceful location among the Cambrian Hills, this delightful holiday home forms part of a historic manor house owned by the same family for over 400 years. With over 2,000 acres of parkland with ancient trees, woodlands, hills and valleys, this is a paradise for walkers and nature enthusiasts. The River Irfon flows through the valley for picnics on the riverbank and there are several spots for wild swimming. The sleepy village of Beulah (1 mile) has a welcoming pub and local store for your everyday essentials, while Llanwrtyd Wells (5.5 miles), the smallest town in the UK has a choice of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Llanwrtyd Wells hosts a range of events throughout the year from the World Alternative Games to bog snorkelling triathlons. Further afield, the spa town of Llandrindod Wells (14 miles) is well worth a visit with its Victorian architecture, or spend the day antiquing and browsing the bookstores at famous Hay on Wye (29 miles). Reached via the estate road, this lovely self catering property is set in a self contained wing of a large manor house, where privacy is assured. Offering reverse level accommodation designed to take advantage of the wonderful views across the valley, enter through the front door and into the hallway. There are three well appointed bedrooms on the ground floor, all tastefully decorated in soothing shades with colourful soft furnishings and bright artwork adorning the walls. There is a spacious master bedroom with a double bed and two light and airy twin bedrooms on this floor, along with the family bathroom with shower over bath and WC. For your convenience, there is a ground floor WC and a utility room where you will find the washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as plenty of space to leave boots and outdoor clothing. Take the stairs to the first floor. The large kitchen/diner is a sociable space for preparing meals together and enjoying each other s company. Fully equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and a freezer, this is a light and airy room with windows overlooking the gardens. Step through the archway to share your meals around the long dining table. Overlooking the valley and the distant lake, the living room is a warm and inviting space for relaxation. Comfortable sofas and chairs are arranged around the large wood burner for cosy evenings in front of the TV. Completing the accommodation on this level is a snug single bedroom and a second bathroom with a bath with hand held shower. Venturing outside, the gardens and grounds surrounding the property are a haven for wildlife. There is a private garden for guests where you can light the BBQ for a relaxed evening meal. Bring your racquets and balls and get competitive on the tennis court. Guests can explore the owner s gardens (within reason), including the walled garden and water meadow. There is safe storage for mountain bikes and ample parking.
