Cottage in Isle of Skye, Glendale

Highland. Sleeps up to 6

As you wind through mountains along a single track road that leads to the cottage, you'll feel yourself falling under the spell of the Isle of Skye. Panoramic views of Dunvegan Head surround you, and on a clear day, you can glimpse the Outer Hebrides in the distance. With a local shop and licensed cafe within 2 miles and attractions such as Dunvegan Castle and Neist Point Lighthouse nearby, you can enjoy the tranquillity that this spot offers whilst never running out of things to see and do. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, whales, basking sharks, seals and sea otters as well, as they're frequently sighted in the area. Inside, the first of two welcoming lounges offers an open coal fire, perfect for curling up in front of a DVD after a blustery stomp along nearby walking trails. The second sports a well stocked bookshelf and glorious views out of the island's famous landscape, so you can tuck yourself away for some all important you time. Cheerful and bright, the kitchen/dining room has all you'll need to stir up a storm and ample seating for six next to the window which overlooks glorious countryside. As it's a one level property, the bedrooms and bathroom facilities are also on the ground floor a warm and inviting double, two twins (one with bunk beds) and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The property sits within enclosed grounds that are shared with another holiday let, but parking is private, as is the patio which overlooks the sea. Pour yourself an aperitif while dinner bubbles on the hob, and head out there for golden hour as the sun sinks below the horizon.
