Maengwyn is a detached farmhouse dating back to about 1820. It's packed full of traditional features, inglenook fireplace and beamed ceilings create a cosy atmosphere whatever the weather. Combined with all the modern comforts we know and love. Behind the property are three hay and flower meadows that are a haven for all flora and fauna, you are welcome to wander through them on the mown paths. There are many rare wild flowers such as marsh orchids and the shallow ponds are a haven for aquatic plants and wildlife. The owners have planted heritage apple trees in one of the meadows. Set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park just off the A487 between the village of Dinas Cross and Newport with their individual shops, pubs, galleries and eateries, this is a wonderful holiday base. The coast path is just a 20 minute walk from the house through a wooded valley with a high waterfall to Aberfforest beach where you can also access cliff top walks and the lovely beach at Cwm yr Eglwys with its ruined church which was destroyed in a terrible storm in the 1850s. Cwm yr Eglwys is a busy beach where you can kayak, launch your small boats, and take part in all traditional beach activities. The owners are happy to share their extensive knowledge of their land and the natural history of Pembrokeshire with their guests.
