Located on the High Street with private parking to the rear, Hallbank Apartment is ideal for couples looking for a base to tour the county and the beautiful Heritage Coast. The harbour at Amble is home to a busy Sunday market, popular with locals and visitors. Here you can also see the little harbour village with its pod style shopping outlets. Along the harbour are two very good fish and chip shops as well as a fish restaurant and a fabulous ice cream parlour. Boat trips to Coquet Island can be taken from here. Views towards Warkworth Castle are lovely on a clear day and you can walk to Warkworth from Amble along the river.

Nearby Warkworth is a pretty, picture postcard village dominated by its castle which sits at the top of the village. The local pubs and cafés are all well worth a visit too. Amble is close to the start of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching along the beautiful coastline to Berwick-upon-Tweed, with miles of golden beaches and castles. Be sure to visit Holy Island during your stay. Alnwick Castle is just a few minutes’ drive away where you can explore this historical building, famed for its use in some ‘Harry Potter’ scenes.

Travelling inland is straightforward from Amble and you can have a great day out in the Northumberland National Park, visiting Kielder Forest Park with its huge forest and reservoir. Trips to Hadrian’s Wall can be enjoyed too. Northumberland is such a diverse county there is always something to do here. Beach 800 yards. Shop and pub 100 yards, restaurant 300 yards.
