Muntjac Cottage is a charming semi-detached cottage, located in a peaceful and rural setting within the owner’s sheep farm, overlooking the pretty village of Mickleton in the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You definitely will not be disappointed with the stunning views of rolling countryside in this idyllic setting! This cosy cottage has been beautifully furnished to ensure guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay. With a cosy wood burner in the living room to warm up in front of after a day exploring, and outside furniture to dine al fresco whilst taking in the stunning views on a warmer evening, this is the perfect retreat for families and friends looking for a central location to meet up. The owner is happy to provide you with a lovely breakfast hamper on arrival.
With plenty of walks from the property and the Cotswolds Way starting from nearby Chipping Campden, you can spend your stay exploring the area by foot or bike. The northernmost village in Gloucestershire is Mickleton, 1 mile away, where you have a choice of two pubs, a convenience store, post office, butchers and the world famous pudding club where you can sample many desserts and vote for your favourite over coffee, a great evening for all pudding fans! The Cotswold town of Chipping Campden is 4 miles away where you will find independent shops, cafés, restaurants and rows of Cotswold stone buildings.
Other Cotswolds towns and villages that are well worth a visit during your stay is Broadway with its tower overlooking the town, Bourton-on-the-Water with its many tourist attractions and Stow-on-the-Wold. The cottage is ideally located for two close by stunning wedding venues, Mickleton Hills Wedding Venue and Norton Grounds. In under 10 miles you can reach William Shakespeare’s hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon with the famous Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, a wealth of shops, eateries and beautiful walks along the River Avon where you might want to take a boat trip or visit one of the many famous Tudor buildings including Shakespeare’s birthplace. Other local attractions in the area include Hidcote Manor and Gardens, Batsford Arboretum and Falconry Centre, Cotswold Farm Park for kids of all ages, Warwick Castle brimming with family fun and Kiftsgate Court Gardens. Travelling slightly further, you will find Cheltenham with its famous racecourse, and the historic university city of Oxford and Banbury. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
