Nestled on the Wild Atlantic Way, it occupies a superb location on a small peninsula, surrounded by the clear waters of Bertraghboy Bay and was featured on the TV series ’Monty Halls’ Great Irish Escape’ in 2011. There are stunning views across the bay to the ’Twelve Pins’ mountain range of Connemara, whilst a rocky shoreline is just ½ mile and a lovely sandy beach is 4 miles. The nearby village of Roundstone offers traditional music and excellent seafood in local pubs and restaurants, as well as boat trips for sea angling. Cyclists have a wealth of routes to explore including the North Connemara route, 55km, and the tranquil scenery of the Bog Road where you can discover the famous Roundstone Bog conservation area. The Connemara National Park is a haven for a range of bird life and provides an excellent spot for a bit of bird watching. Look out for Whooper swans, kestrels, snop and Reed Buntings.
