No smoking.. Located in peaceful countryside in the rear wing of the owners’ period residence, this cosy cottage is the perfect getaway destination for your holiday. It has all the requirements for a comfortable stay and its central location makes it a perfect choice if you want to explore the midlands and west of Ireland. There is a large secluded garden with sitting area and lovely canal walks close by. Visitors to the area are spoiled for choice for places to see. Birr is 12 miles away with its castle with its well-known telescope, Clonmacnoise an ancient Monastic site, Lough Boora Parklands with walks, birdwatching and sculpture park, Banagher on the River Shannon with its attractive marina and canal and river fishing (licence required). The busy midlands capital Athlone is just 18 miles away where you will find a large selection of shops, restaurants pubs. Shop and pub 1½ miles and restaurant 3 miles.. Aprroximate distance to Shannon airport is 120 km.
