This delightful, bright and cosy cottage, situated in the grounds of the owner’s home, is on a large upland livestock farm, only 28 miles south of Edinburgh and 2½ miles from Lauder which has a good range of good local shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as an art gallery which serves great coffee and cakes. This mid-terrace cottage is south facing with lovely open views and and an enclosed garden to the rear. The living room is very comfortable and welcoming, and the kitchen is well-equipped. Bedrooms are on the first floor, again with super views, and the bathroom is very spacious with both a bath and separate shower. The Southern Upland Way passes through the farm on its way to the coast and there are many lovely walks in the area. There are several glorious historic houses and gardens to discover, nearby at Thirlestane Castle, and at Floors Castle, Mellerstain, Bowhill and Traquair. Enjoy browsing the shops and galleries in Kelso and Melrose, where there is a book festival each June, or explore along the Northumbrian or East Lothian coast, just a scenic 45 minutes’ drive away. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
