Forming a wing of a country manor, this light and spacious first floor apartment offers a tastefully styled, comfortable base with superb extensive views over local countryside, fields and grazing ponies. All of the accommodation is on the first floor, and the high ceilings and warm use of colours add to the feeling of space, particularly in the open plan living/dining room, which leads on to a sun room with additional seating and desk, the ideal place to sit and relax after a day of sightseeing! The extensive gardens are shared with the other residents, and there is a barbecue and allocated seating area as well as two parking spaces. Adjacent to the property is a riding school, where guests can pre-book riding lessons or livery/stables on request by prior arrangement.
The pretty villages of Godstone and Lingfield are about 3 miles distant with a range of traditional shops, pubs and eateries, and Caterham is also nearby. South Godstone railway station is about 1 mile away and Oxted railway station is about 5 miles away. London is easily reached in about half an hour via the fast train from Oxted. Godstone Farm nearby makes a great day out, with farm animals, a woodland maze, tractor rides and indoor/outdoor play area.
There are plenty of National Trust stately homes and gardens to explore, all within easy driving distance including National Trust Wakehurst, Penshurst Place and Gardens, Hever Castle, Box Hill and Bletchingley Castle. Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, Nymans and Sheffield Park and Garden are also worth visiting. Horse racing enthusiasts can enjoy trips to Epsom, Lingfield Park or Brighton Racecourse. For exciting days out why not visit Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Denbies Wine Estate or Bocketts Farm Park? Brighton and the south coast can be reached in around 45 minutes and offer a host of seaside activities and family entertainment. The spa town of Tunbridge Wells is also within easy reach, along with Dover from which you can enjoy trips to Calais. Gatwick airport is only about 20 minutes’ drive, and Heathrow is also very easily accessible. Fishing, golf and horse riding can all be found nearby. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
