The Meeting Place is in the village of Llangynidr, a few minutes walk from two excellent pubs (both serve good food). There is also good general shop with a post office - so a walk not a drive for a morning newspaper. The village also has new Hard Tennis Courts (£5.00 per hour) in the adjacent playing fields. This is a good family house with perhaps elder grandparents and a downstairs bedroom - warm and well renovated. The village is an excellent base to either walk or mountain bike and explore the surrounding countryside with The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Just a few minutes walk along the lane to the canal with the many boats and the locks - good for a stroll, or down the lane to The River Usk. This is also a perfect location for Ebbw Vale, Brynmawr and The Welsh Valleys with The Heads of The Valleys Road only 15 minutes drive over Llangynidr Mountain. Visit The Chartist Cave, the ancient stone platforms from neolithic times, The Bevan Memorial and try to find the site of a crashed World War 11 Bomber - but one of the best things are the truly stunning views over miles of welsh rolling countryside with Llangorse Lake and the mountains spread out below - a really good place for a picnic.
