Pentwyn Barn is close to Pentwyn Farmhouse and Red Kite Stable Cottage also a recently beautifully renovated property. Together the two properties will comfortably sleep up to 15 visitors and there is plenty of space in the Barn to eat together. Throughout both properties there is superb craftsmanship with "home grown" oak from the farm for the beams, doors and windows. The farmhouse dates originally from the early 1600's. Pentwyn Farm is set on high ground above the hamlet of Merthyr Cynog with the most beautiful panoramic views over rolling farmland in the valley to the Brecon Beacons - approximately 10 miles south. The house is approached through the Yscir Fechan Valley on the edges of The Mynydd Eppynt. The Eppynt Ranges offer fantastic opportunities for walkers, riders and cyclists along the newly created Eppynt Way which is a waymarked circular permissive bridleway following within the boundary of the Army Training Area, a total distance of about 90 km- a long bike ride. The farm has its own private woodland where guests are free to walk ,relax and unwind in the ancient oak woods. Children love visiting here to see the lambs - lambing in March - April and then see them rushing around the rolling mountain fields while the adults ENJOY THE HOT TUB.
