Quietly situated in a residential setting in the historic market town of Knaresborough, this comfortable holiday property is conveniently located close to the shops, amenities and attractions of this delightful area. The accommodation is an annexe in the grounds of the owner’s home, and a warm but unobtrusive welcome awaits. There is a delightful outdoor space for sitting-out on warm summer evenings, plenty of parking and the bus stop and train station are both close by. Knaresborough is full of surprises with a warren of medieval streets and stone stairs that weave their way up and down the hill. The town centre is perched on the cliffs above the River Nidd, and at the base of the cliff the riverside promenade is a great place to enjoy an ice cream or step aboard a rowing boat. Visit Mother Shipton’s Cave and Petrifying Well, where numerous artefacts have been turned to stone over the years, and enjoy the spectacular views from the castle, across the river and gorge. The Nidd Gorge is a beautiful wooded landscape just upstream of the town, ideal for walking, picnics and wildlife watching. The Beryl Burton Cycle Way is a Sustrans route, allowing cyclists to ride to Harrogate and Ripley by traffic free routes.
The Annexe provides a perfect base from which to explore the elegant spa town of Harrogate, 4 miles away, with its Royal Pump Museum and restored Turkish baths and famous Betty’s tea rooms. The walled city of York is just half an hour by train or car, and is packed with attractions, including the iconic minster and Jorvik Centre, theatres, art galleries and festivals. The Yorkshire Dales National Park, North York Moors National Park and the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby are all easily accessible. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
