There is an excellent village shop, Bay View Stores Post Office and Off Licence, which sells groceries, papers, and angling supplies. Buy your crabbing equipment here and try your hand at crabbing off the quayside at Solva Harbour – the Yacht Club makes a great place to stop for refreshments. For evening meals, The Cambrian serves locally sourced gastro-pub food and Number 35 is renowned for its fresh fish and chips. Solva Woollen MillSolva Woollen Mill in Middle Mill, is the oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire. It specialises in flat weave carpets, rugs and runners - including rugs for Llwynywormwood, Prince Charles' Welsh residence. Visitors are welcome to watch the looms at work and perhaps buy a memento in the gift shop?St Bride's Bay Water Taxi for WalkersSolva Sailboats operate a water taxi which will take you to your chosen destination from where you can walk back along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Solva. St Davids Cathedral CityThe historic village city of St. Davids is just over 3 miles away. Sample the wide variety of eating places - superb restaurants, small tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs - all offering locally sourced food. A Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday. Browse the individually owned interesting shops and galleries. The beautiful medieval Cathedral and Bishop's Palace are an essential visit. The buildings are historic and remarkable and programmes of music and plays are staged throughout the year. Just a short walk from St. Davids is St. Non’s Chapel and Monument, said to be the birth place of St. Davids. The coastline views here are wonderful. Whitesands BeachA Blue Flag awarded beautiful sandy beach with rolling waves, rugged rocks and rock pools backed by a small mountain Carn Llidi is just 5 miles away. The beach is popular with bathers, surfers and canoeists as well as walkers and climbers. There is a car park, small cafe, shop and toilets. Dogs are permitted between May and September. Linger awhile and enjoy the wonderful sunsets. Other St Davids Peninsula BeachesThe peninsula is rich in beaches for family days out. Abereiddi is a popular, family friendly, west facing, sand and pebble beach with low rocks and cliffs. Explore Newgale, Caerfai, Traeth llyfyn – all wide sandy beaches offering a rich variety of delights. The Pembrokeshire Coastal PathEnjoy walks on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, both east and west.
