A small stream flows into the sea here and there is a slipway too, all overlooked by The Mariners Inn. Perched on the cliff tops above the beach is Druidstone Inn with its family friendly atmosphere and great food and drink in a truly breathtaking setting. Newgale SandsNewgale is popular with all the family - fisherfolk, surfers, kite flyers, and beach combers alike. Across the road are 2 beach shops and surf lessons as well as equipment for hire are available, a café and the Duke of Edinburgh pub across the road from the beach - ladies may enjoy a visit to The Touch of Class Beauty Room with its wide range of beauty treatments.. Broad HavenEasily accessible and with firm golden sands and rock pools at either end of the beach this is paradise for children. Behind the beach there are a couple of little cafes, a surf shop and pub. Little HavenThis small sandy cove is popular for boating with a slipway, rock pooling and local walks on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Well served by places offering refreshment, there are 3 pubs all serving food as well as a bistro.. SolvaWithin an easy drive of this Pembrokeshire farmhouse is the small harbourside village of Solva - excellent pubs - in particular The Cambrian serves excellent food (booking advisable), gift shops and an art gallery to visit. Fishing trips as well as sailing, windsurfing and kayaking lessons can all be arranged here.A little inland from Solva is Middle Mill with the oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire and where flat weave carpets, rugs and runners, amongst other items are manufactured and there is an excellent tea room and shop too!St Bride's Bay Water Taxi for WalkersSolva Sailboats operate a water taxi which will take you to your chosen destination from where you can walk back along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Solva. St Davids and Whitesands BayNo visit to Pembrokeshire is complete without a visit to characterful St Davids, Britain's tiniest city with interesting shops, galleries, lots of places to eat, a magnificent Cathedral and the atmospheric ruined Bishop's Castle. Glorious Whitesands beach is just a mile away along the coast path or by car. New Quay and Dolphin SpottingHead north to visit the pretty little seaside town of New Quay, once home to the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. It is believed that many of the town's characters were his inspiration for Under Milk Wood. New Quay has three sandy beaches and an ancient harbour from which dolphin spotting boat trips leave regularly. Pembrokeshire Bird IslandsTake a boat trip from Martins Haven in St Brides Bay (1st April to 30th September weather permitting), on the 'Dale Princess' to Skomer Island where more than 7000 pairs of Puffins (known locally as the Pembrokeshire Parrot) nest in the cliff slopes and on the cliffs. Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Razorbills, and Guillemots abound from early spring to mid September. Boats also leave from St Justinians near St Davids to visit Ramsey Island. In spring and early Summer the wild flowers are stunning - acres of Bluebells and Red Campion on the interior contrast with Sea Pinks, Sea Campion and Scurvy Grass on the cliff slopes. Grey seals are numerous in the seas around Pembrokeshire and in the Autumn they come into the secluded beaches and coves all along the coast to have their pups. TenbyDo visit the elegant seaside resort of Tenby. Stroll through the medieval town full of shops, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants. Visit the Tudor Merchants House (National Trust), take boat trips from the harbour to Caldey Island and enjoy any one of the 5 glorious sandy beaches.
