Sailing and fishing enthusiasts can relax and enjoy the comings and goings in the marina, and watch the crabs being landed from the terrace. There is a lovely pub with views, just 300 yards away on the harbour front, which serves food and takeaway meals. It is family friendly, and pet friendly in the bar area only.

Breathtaking beach and clifftop walks from the village form part of the Moray Coast Trail and take you into Buckie, Portknockie and Cullen where there are more pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops within 3 miles. There are sandy beaches and coves with plenty of fishing heritage and sea life to explore beyond the marina, and a challenging 18-hole golf course 1 mile west of the village. With activities such as walking, sailing, fishing, diving, cycling, whale watching and golf available, there is much to do locally.

During the summer, the daylight hours are very long providing every opportunity to enjoy the quality of the local scenery, and when the conditions allow, witness the amazing northern lights. The spectacular coastline ranges from steep cliffs with little fishing villages strung out at the base to fantastic sandy beaches, especially at Cullen, and also Nairn and Lossiemouth further west.

There are many historic castles and gardens to explore including the spectacular ruined Findlater, the Joiner’s Workshop in Fordyce and Duff House in Banff. Whisky and castle trails are further inland starting with the Glenglassaugh distillery just 7½ miles away. A boat trip to see the dolphins and seals is a must, and the many neighbouring little villages have a treasure trove of antique and curios shops as well as coffee shops and restaurants, offering fine local food and seasonal produce. A true jewel in the Moray Firth Coastline, Findochty ensures a memorable holiday any time of the year, and on Thursdays, the fish and chip van visits! Beach 300 yards. Shop and pub 300 yards.
