This beautifully styled contemporary detached holiday lodge, near Gala Water, is situated just off the A7 and 23 miles south of Edinburgh on a working farm. The original Lodge has been extensively extended creating a wonderful light and welcoming living area with stunning views and French doors opening to the enclosed garden. The property is within easy reach of Edinburgh, just 40 minutes by train from Stow, or take advantage of the convenient park and ride, just 17 miles away. Nearby are historic houses at Traquair and Thirlestane and the lovely Border towns of Melrose and Kelso, each with its ancient abbey. The market town of Peebles is also nearby and has fantastic mountain biking at Glentress, one of the 7 stanes. Hill walking, golf and fishing nearby. A tennis court is located 1½ miles away at the owners farmhouse. Hire of the court is by the hour, and bookings must be made by prior arrangement with the owner. Appropriate flat footwear with no treads must be worn, and racquets and tennis balls are also available to hire at a small fee should you require them. Shop and pub 4 miles, restaurant 11 miles.
