This lovely, detached, single-storey lodge is set against a backdrop of ivy and trees, and adjacent to fields opposite the local traditional pub serving food. Ideal for couples or small families, Beechwood Lodge is only about ½-mile from an unspoilt, pebble beach, sand dunes and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. A farm shop selling local produce is also approximately ½-mile in the other direction. It has an enclosed, slightly elevated woodland area, which is a haven for wildlife, including the occasional deer, pheasant and various birds. Inside, the property offers tastefully furnished, light and airy accommodation, with a ‘deer’ theme, to give the feel of a hunting lodge, and there is a sofa bed in the open plan living area, for up to two children. The shower room and toilet is en-suite to the master bedroom.
There is plenty to do in the area, with Arundel close by, famous for its castle, lanes with book and antique shops, plus Wildfowl and Wetlands Wildlife Centre, Pulborough Brooks RSPB, popular beaches at The Witterings, Worthing and Bognor. It is within easy driving distance of Chichester with the cathedral, festival theatre, leisure facilities and Goodwood or Fontwell Races plus Midhurst with Cowdray Polo and shops. There are many scenic walks including the South Downs National Park. There is also the cosmopolitan city of Brighton to the east with its Royal Pavilion and Portsmouth to the west, which has Spinnaker Tower, ferry trips to the Isle of Wight and designer retail shopping. National Trust homes and gardens, such as Goodwood House, Parham Park, Petworth House, Stanstead Park and East Dean can all be easily reached. Outdoor pursuits such as golf, horseracing, various water sports and cycle routes can all be found in the area. Beach ½ mile. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
