Farmers’ markets are held in both Cheddar and Axbridge on alternate Saturdays, or for a larger, French-style market, there is always the delightful city of Wells, England’s smallest cathedral city. Wookey Hole Caves and paper mill on the outskirts of Wells are well worth a visit, as is Clarks Village factory outlet complex in Street for the shopaholics. All three destinations are within a 30-minute radius. There is also a choice of three golf courses in the immediate area. A little further afield is the World Heritage city of Bath, Yeovilton Air Museum and the Bath and West Showground, all well within an hour’s drive. The coastal resorts of Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-Super-Mare and Clevedon are also within an easy drive. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
