It is located in the heart of Coleford, one of the Forest of Dean’s most well-known and best-loved towns, which has a good number of historic buildings, as well as being a designated conservation area. Just 2 minutes’ walk from the property you can enjoy the shops, pubs and restaurants in the town centre, and this is a perfect base from which to visit the nearby family attractions including Clearwell Caves, The Secret Forest, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Steam Railway, a sculpture trail and a railway museum. The Forest of Dean has always been a mecca for cyclists (the property has a rack to store four bikes behind a locked gate) and walkers, and areas within easy reach are Clearwell, Newland and St Briavels. Symonds Yat is a popular destination for ornothologists due to the prescence of nesting peregrine falcons, and the Wye Valley offers a variety of river-based activities such as canoeing and fishing.
