Close by, there is the historic town of Ruthin with its famous jail and a great choice of cafés and restaurants. You can drive over the Horseshoe Pass and visit Llangollen, home to both the International Musical Eisteddfod which takes place in July, and the Llangollen Steam Railway. Take your bucket and spade to the beaches on the North Wales coast, or take a trip to Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. Tuck in to a bison burger at Rhug Farm Shop near Corwen, or hire a bike to go riding in the local forests. Beach 15 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub 2½ miles and restaurant 2 miles.
