Rose Cottage makes a super base for exploring this beautiful and interesting part of the Northern Highlands with so much to see and do for all ages. Located just under a mile from Loch Ness, you could walk up to see the ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores of the loch. Visit in the evening hours and view it under illumination, it is quite a spectacular sight! Take a short drive to Glen Affric, often quoted as being one of the most spectacular and unspoilt of Scotland’s glens. Take a trip to visit the Highland capital of Inverness where you can take advantage of the large variety of shops, fine restaurants and pubs, theatre, museums and galleries. Visit the Moray coastline, voted amongst the top 20 of the world’s best coastline destinations. Take a day trip up to experience the stunning scenic beauty of the west coast and the Isle of Skye, or to the south east, the Cairngorms National Park. Amongst the many activities available are mountain biking and walking in the many fabulous forest rails on Loch Ness or the Moray coast golf; and photography of the abundance of bird and wildlife in the area.
