Sailing enthusiasts have available to them a yacht and small boat moorings within the sheltered estuary, and golfing enthusiasts will delight in the two courses close by, one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton which enjoys panoramic views. Nearby, visitors can explore the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the east, and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west.
