Cycle store. No smoking. NB: There are steps in the garden.. Escape to this quaint holiday cottage, part of the owner’s home but completely private. It is thoughtfully furnished for your comfort and ease, with spectacular views of the Ochil Hills and surrounding countryside. Watergate is a bright and welcoming cottage set in the historic conservation hamlet of Blairlogie, with its picturesque 16th century castle and 18th century cottages. The track that passes 1772 main house dates back to medieval times, and was originally the ’King’s Highway’ from Stirling Castle to Falkland Palace, the royal hunting place. Nowadays it is a pathway for leisurely walks in the countryside. It is just four miles from Stirling, with an ancient castle and historic buildings, parks, shopping centres, restaurants, bar and visitor attractions. There is plenty to do for all ages.
There are several excellent golf courses in the town and local area including Gleneagles, just a 20-minute drive. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is close by and well known for the dramatic scenery and all year outdoor activities.
There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen from the cottage and in the surrounding countryside, including many species of wild birds. Guests are welcome to wander in the well-tended garden, shared with the owner’s, the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the area.
